It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing. Of my dear sweet mother/grandmother Annie Daniel Williams age 89, who passed away in her home. Surrounded by the ones who loved her the most. In the early morning hours on Monday April 28th 2025, which coincidently was her mom's birthday.
She was born in Vance County North Carolina before moving to Virginia. Where she married her husband and raised a beautiful family. 1 daughter and two grandchildren. Who loved her right to the very end. What she lacked in stature, she more than made up for in personality, tenacity, and wit. She was an endless source of strength, love, and honesty. Her words of wisdom and advice were rarely ever sugar-coated but were endlessly relevant and always insightful.
She was preceded in death by her husband David Early Williams, a sister Maria Underwood, a brother-in-law, Jack Underwood and a brother Ben Daniel. She is survived by her daughter Esther Mae Williams, granddaughter Donna Marie Williams, grandson James David Williams, her loyal and loving sisters Ruth Mayer and Patricia Chatman. And numerous other family and friends.
Annie loved flowers and hummingbirds. She loved sitting in the deck watching the birds eating. She loved her little dog named Princess. But most of all she loved her family and living her life fully.
A graveside funeral will be held on Thursday May 8, 2025, at 1 pm. At south lawn Memorial Park. Services provided by Bland Funeral Home.
We ask all family and friends to meet at the cemetery. Or at our home, A luncheon will be held after. God bless. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Mrs. Annie, please visit our Tree Store.
