Obituary of Anthony Abbott
Anthony Abbott (Tony) 73, passed away in Orlando, Florida on May 24, 2023. Tony is survived by his daughters Kellie (Warren) Cox, and Jennifer (Eric) Clos, his bonus daughter Kristin (Martin) Ryan, as well as his grandchildren Riley, Mallory, Sydney & Bryson who he adored dearly and who called him Jiddo. Tony is also survived by his mother, Theresa Guter, his brothers James (Jozette) Abbott, Steven Abbott, his beloved sister-in-law Ostina Abbott, several family members, and long-time friends. He was predeceased by his wife Linda who was the love of his life and he missed dearly. Tony was born on May 18, 1950, in Lebanon. He was a 1969 graduate of Sherburne-Earlville High School and a graduate of Morrisville State College. Tony was the General Manager of Global and a key team member for 25 years. Global was an extended family to Tony especially his best friend, Sanjay Srinivasan who was like a son to him. Tony had a strong-willed personality who was very protective and extremely proud of his family. He was supportive, loving, and would always put his own needs aside to care for others. If you knew Tony, it goes without saying his love for the NY Giants, SU basketball, and his Middle Eastern culture. He also loved to dance and wasn't afraid to drag you on the dance floor
with him. He had an infectious smile and a presence that would light up a room. He touched the hearts of so many and will truly be missed.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 4:00-6:00 at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home on 2584 Field Lane, Lafayette, NY. A funeral will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 10:00 am at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home. Tony will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery alongside his beloved wife, Linda.
