Anthony Lee "Tony" Barkhaus

Anthony "Tony" Lee Barkhaus, 88, of Utica, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born November 5, 1934 in Knottsville to the late Anthony "Bud" Lee Barkhaus and Theresa Elizabeth Aull Barkhaus. Tony retired from coal mining and working as a riverboat pilot and diesel mechanic. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Relevant Faith Church. Tony was a lifetime member of the VFW.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Angela Reeves, grandson, Nicholas Barkhaus; and brothers, Paul Baron and Al Baron.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Rita Faye Barkhaus; two sons, Journey Bryan Barkhaus and Anthony Lee Barkhaus III; daughter, Resa Elizabeth Bash; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at St. William Catholic Church Cemetery with Military Honors. James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
