Anthony Beletsky Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home on Mar. 3, 2026.
Anthony Paul Beletsky of Waterford, CT, beloved husband of Marguerite Dorothy Beletsky for 43 years, died on February 28th, 2026, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.

He was a devoted father to Paul Leonardo Beletsky (married to Christina Michelle) and Melissa Jean Greco, and a loving grandfather to Harley Hope Beletsky, Brynn Gabrielle, and Katelyn Mackenzie Day. Anthony was also the brother of the late Jo-Ann Karalus. He was born in New Haven, CT, on June 3rd, 1942, the son of the late Paul and Lucille Beletsky. Anthony graduated from West Haven High School, Quinnipiac College, and completed studies at the Connecticut School of Banking at the University of Hartford.

Anthony began his professional journey in finance, working for Household Finance as a Branch Manager, Norwich Savings Society as an Assistant Loan Manager, and Groton Savings Bank as Assistant Treasurer, Branch Manager, and Loan Manager. After his successful tenure in banking, Anthony transitioned into the food service industry, pursuing his passion as Owner & Operator of Anthony's Steam Carriage (New London, CT) and Four Seasons Steak & Seafood Restaurant (Groton, CT). Later, Anthony embarked on a new chapter in the gaming industry, working at Foxwoods Casino as Poker Room Dealer Coordinator and Floor Supervisor, and finishing his career at Mohegan Sun Casino as Poker Room Assistant Manager and Gaming Floor Supervisor. Friends and family often recall his warm sense of humor and the way he treated every customer and colleague like family.

Deeply committed to his community, Anthony was Chairman of the American Cancer Society in 1977, led the Waterford Bicentennial Committee in 1976, and served on Millstone Point Association from 1973 to the present. He was also a proud member of the Elks Lodge #1784 in Westbrook, CT. Anthony's generous spirit, leadership, and dedication to service left a lasting impact on everyone he met-he was always ready with a helping hand or a kind word, and his legacy will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life gathering in June for friends and family to share stories of Mr. Beletsky's life.

The Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic is assisting the family with the arrangements.
