Anthony Berarducci Obituary

Anthony Lawrence Berarducci, affectionately known as Tony, or "Duch" if you were a friend, passed away at the age of 83 on Feb. 4, 2026, at Shady Side Hospital. Tony was born on July 31, 1942, at Citizens General Hospital in New Kensington to Mario and Antonietta Berarducci. His father, Mario, immigrated to the United States from Italy, and Tony lived his life as a true first-generation success story and a proud example of the American Dream. He was the beloved husband of Dolores "Do" Berarducci. Married on May 30, 1966, they shared nearly 60 years of love, laughter, and family. Together they raised three children, Christopher (Jill) Berarducci, Anthony "Tony" (Christy) Berarducci, and Cassandra (Chuck) Heinle. Tony was a devoted and endlessly proud grandfather to Christopher, Alexandra, Sofie, Max, AJ, Vince, Calvin, Nicholas, and Carson, never missing a chance to compliment them and bond over their shared love of sports, business, and a good joke. Tony had one sister, Joanne Wright; along with many brothers and sisters-in-law who were part of the extended family he deeply cherished, including Lynn Tillmans, Byron Wright, and the Shank family: Kramer, Calvin, Robert (Bob), Richard (Dick), Ronald (Doc), Catherine Marie, Floyd, Lloyd, and Gary. Tony spent his life rooted in New Kensington and Lower Burrell, where he built both his home and his legacy. A businessman through and through, he graduated from New Kensington High School, earned his bachelor's degree from Robert Morris University and Youngstown State University, and then completed his MBA at Xavier University. For 46 years, from 1969 to 2015, he successfully led and grew beverage distribution companies in Lower Burrell, including Berarducci Beverage and Hillcrest Distributing. Through hard work, determination, and devotion to his family, Tony built something lasting for generations to come. A man of many passions, Tony loved golf, cards, classic and luxury cars, football, his friendships, and, above all, his family. He was proud of his Italian heritage, and for his 80th birthday, he had the joy of visiting his family's ancestral home in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Italy. Tony was a devout Catholic and longtime member of Mount Saint Peter and St. Margaret Mary Parish. He was also a proud member of Hillcrest Country Club for 52 years, the Porsche Club of America, the Teutonia M nnerchor, and an honorary member of Lower Burrell VFW Post 92. Tony would praise his grandkids and then joke, saying, "Too bad you couldn't be better looking!" A natural storyteller, Tony had the rare ability to change the atmosphere in any room. He was known and loved throughout the area. As his grandson Max shared, "It would take us 20 minutes longer to go out to eat with him because he knew everyone in the restaurant and had to say hello." The family and Lower Burrell will never quite be the same without him. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, in CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. Additional visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until transfer prayers at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, in St. Margaret Mary Church, 3055 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., celebrated by Father Dan Blout. Private burial in Puckety Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tony's memory to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network or St. Margaret Mary Parish. Tony's legacy lives on in the family he loved, the businesses he built, and the laughter he brought into every room. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. We look forward to the day we are together again. Rest in peace, Anthony. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., where his grandson, Carson Heinle, is employed.
