Anthony "Tony" Carchidi

Anthony "Tony" Carchidi, of Gloucester Twp., NJ, formerly of the Packer Park section of South Philadelphia, PA, passed away November 20, 2023, at the age of 89 years. Beloved husband of sixty-five years to the late Marie R. Carchidi (nee DiDomenicis), who predeceased him in 2020. Devoted father of Anthony Carchidi, Jr. and Roseangela Cotellese (Peter III). Proud grandfather of Anthony Carchidi, Christian Carchidi, Marissa Carchidi, Chelsea Piscitelli, Steve Piscitelli, Peter Cotellese IV, Jennifer Cotellese, Branden Cotellese, Gabriela Cotellese, Dustin Cotellese, Blaise Cotellese, and Devin Cotellese, great-grandfather of Gia Cotellese, Salvie Cotellese, Luca Cotellese, Victoria Carchidi, Tessa Carchidi, Avery Piscitelli, Mena Cotellese, and Christian Carchidi, Jr. Tony was predeceased by his parents; Nicola Carchidi and Angelina Carchidi (nee Raspa), and his three siblings; Joseph Carchidi, Vincent Carchidi, and Nicholas Carchidi.
Tony and his wife Marie worked tirelessly by one another's side for forty-seven years at the Penn Treaty Food Market, which they owned and operated in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia. They and their entire family worked together to keep the family business successful. He was a great businessman whose incredible sense of humor led him to have many successful business relationships throughout the years.
Tony had one governing policy in his life, if his wife, kids, and grandkids were happy, life couldn't get any better. He dedicated himself to always doing the best for the ones he loved. He was always generous with his children and grandchildren. In 1963 he and his wife took their first trip to Disney, after seeing how amazing it was and what a great time they had, every single year from then on, they made it a point to take the family. Even claiming some years to not be going, or acting disinterested, only to be waiting in the hotel lobby with a smile when his family arrived. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Viewing will be Monday, November 27, from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM at Earle Funeral Home, 122 W. Church Street, Blackwood, NJ 08012. His Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope Parish / St. Agnes Church, 701 Little Gloucester Road, Blackwood, NJ 08012.
