Anthony "Tony" Glenn Carpenter, 69, a lifelong resident of
Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly.
Born on December 15, 1956, in
Sulphur Springs, Texas, Tony was the son of the late John Henry Carpenter and Mary Ada Alford.
A proud graduate of the South Grand Prairie High School Class of 1975, he carried a deep sense of hometown pride throughout his life, building a legacy defined by hard work, creativity, and unwavering loyalty.
On June 27, 1980, Tony married the love of his life, Teri. Their 45-year partnership was the cornerstone of his life built on devotion, friendship, and shared memories that carried them through every season together.
Tony discovered his calling early, beginning his career in barbering at just 17 years old. In 1988, he opened C & C Hair Design, creating much more than a business. For decades, Tony was a fixture in the community; to those who sat in his chair, he was a skilled craftsman, a patient listener, and a true friend.
Outside of the shop, Tony found joy in life's meaningful transitions. He was an avid gardener who took pride in nurturing growth, a fan of westerns, and had a love for the band The Mavericks. He also relished the friendly competition of fantasy football, especially when shared with those who knew his spirit best.
At home, Tony expressed his love through the traditions he curated. A self-taught grill master, he was happiest when cooking for his inner circle. Whether it was "Friday Night Spaghetti" or "Sunday Burgers," these meals were the heartbeat of his home, bringing people together to share laughter and create lasting memories.
Tony will be remembered as a man of great humor, authenticity, and heart. While he was a friend to many, his family remained the center of his world and his greatest pride.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred Earl Carpenter and John "Buck" Larry Carpenter, and his sister, Carolyn "Kay" Caddell.
His legacy lives on through his survivors: His beloved wife of 45 years, Teri Lee Carpenter; his sons, John Michael Carpenter (wife Dagian Ashelle) and David Lee Carpenter (wife Courtney Elizabeth); his cherished grandchildren, Kaylee Nicole, Riley Aidyn, Jett Avery, and Tripp Taylor; and his great-granddaughter, River Jade; his sister, Mary "Helen" Denton; He also leaves behind his "best friends for life," Terry Brooks and Eddie Clauser, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Tony's Life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home under the direction of Aaron King, Funeral Director.
