Anthony Lynn "Tony" Cross, born on January 3, 1971 in Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on December 7, 2024 in
Buffalo, Missouri. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Isom and Maggie Cross, Jessie and Lelia Smith; many uncles, aunts, and cousins; and recently by his beloved father, Charles Leon Cross.
He is survived by his devoted wife and love of his life, Cheryl. He leaves behind his mother-in-law Darlene Hilton; daughters Kynslie Cross and Ashley (Rick) Witt; sons Kyle (Valerie) Keith, Shaun Stevens, and Cody Pipkin; sister-in-law Gayelynne Elkordy; nephew Adam; niece Hanna and grandchildren Kiarra, Alek, Zakary, Zoey, Brian and Emmalee all of Missouri.
Mother Martha Cross; sister Valerie Walker; niece Courtney of Tennessee. Brother Mitchell Cross; sister-in-law Kelly Cross, grandchildren Bentley and Gabriella Inman of Soddy Daisy, TN.
Tennessee held a special place in Tony's heart. It was where he was born but also the setting for countless memories on the Tennessee River. Many fishing trips with his brother were spent there-hours filled with topics only brothers share. Though their bond has been broken by loss, the love between brothers remains eternal.
Tony valued friendship and shared many connections throughout his life. Sean Brashears and Don Forester were those whose friendships he treasured. His family extends their heartfelt gratitude for creating memories that brought joy to his life.
We would also like to express our sincere thanks to Rick McPhillips for providing the use of a medical van; Vic Rowden for allowing the use of an electric wheelchair; Tony Heddings along with the Volunteer Firefighters for their swift response during critical times of need. The Ambulance Service, First responders and all who aided in Tony's care. Thank you will never be enough.
Ravenwood Assisted Living Facility, we extended our deepest gratitude for their generosity to help with medical costs. And for allowing Cheryl to be with family during this difficult time. We are grateful to you and hold Ravenwood in highest regards in every aspect.
Tony was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, husband and friend who brought light to every room with his smile. His warmth and sense of humor touched many lives. We struggle with sorrow and questions that remain. But we find comfort in the words from The Old Testament: "Death is not the end. And all questions will be answered, no more sorrow or pain. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."
Saying goodbye brings immense pain to those who loved him dearly, Tony's memory will live on. May his legacy bring peace to all as they honor the life he lived. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to the GoFundMe page dedicated in his honor.
I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk by Your side
I can only Imagine what my eyes will see
When your face is before me
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance for you, Jesus
Or in awe of You be still
Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine when that day comes
And I find myself standing in the sun
I can only imagine when all I will do
Is forever worship you
I can only imagine
