Anthony DelVecchio Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by W.C. Brady’s Sons, Inc Funeral Home on Oct. 29, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Anthony F. DelVecchio, Jr.
September 7, 1949 – October 26, 2025
Surrounded by the love of his devoted family, Anthony F. DelVecchio, Jr. passed away
peacefully on October 26, 2025. A man of unwavering loyalty, boundless warmth, and a
smile that could light up any room, Anthony lived a life rooted in love, laughter, and service.
Born and raised in the Upper Village of Athens, Anthony was a proud son of his community.
He dedicated his life to those he loved most-his family. To Anthony, family wasn't just
important; it was everything. He was their biggest fan, their loudest cheerleader, and their
most steadfast supporter. He spoke often and proudly of his children and grandchildren,
never missing a chance to boast about their accomplishments and joys.
Anthony shared 45 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jeanie DelVecchio.
Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. He was a
cherished father to Anthony F. DelVecchio III and Gina DiTullio, Christopher and Kristie
DelVecchio, and Brian and Angela Gordon. His legacy lives on through his adored
grandchildren: Isabella, Hunter, Gabriella, Lucas, and Liam DelVecchio, Logan Tooley-John,
Grayson Mills, and McKenna Carolan.
He found joy in the simple pleasures-playing cards with family, sharing stories around the
table, and attending Sunday dinners at Grandma Betty's. His laughter was infectious, his
presence comforting, and his excitement to see or hear from loved ones was always genuine
and heartfelt.
Anthony was a man of many passions. He loved camping, deer hunting, motorcycle riding,
boating, and spending time at the docks. His adventurous spirit was matched only by his
deep sense of duty. He served honorably in the Air National Guard from 1968 to 2004,
retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was also a lifetime member of the Athens Fire Department
and a proud Past Captain of Makawomuc Engine Company No. 3.
He is survived by his loving sisters Sandra (Lawrence) Palmateer and Tracy (William)
Lester, along with many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 12 PM to 3 PM at WC Brady's
Sons, Inc., located at 97 Mansion St. in Coxsackie, NY to celebrate his life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children's
Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate, a cause close to Anthony's heart.
Anthony F. DelVecchio, Jr. will be remembered for his unwavering love, his radiant smile,
and the joy he brought to everyone fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will live on in
the hearts of those he loved so deeply.
