Anthony Dowdy Obituary
Anthony was a manager for Super 8 Motels for many years. He would often be seen reading his Bible or watching football. He also enjoyed animals.
In addition to his parents, Anthony is preceded in death by his brother, David Dowdy.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Sydney Holmes Dowdy of Wise County, Virginia; brothers, Gregory Dowdy (Denise) of Pembroke, and Jay Dowdy (Carolyn) of Dugspur, VA; sister-in-law, Cathy Dowdy of Newport, VA; and three nephews.
There will be a memorial service conducted on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 4:00 PM in Riverview Baptist Church with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Riverview Baptist Church. A guestbook is available to send condolences by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com. The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the Dowdy family.

It's been a week since I watched you leave this life and I'm still in state of shock. I was not ready to lose you, but what child is ready to lose their father. You always looked out for me, even when I didn't realize. I miss you so much. Who is gonna walk me down the aisle now? Not only do I, but Evan and Barley miss you so much. I know where you've gone is a million times better than where you were. You're with Grandma and Grandpa and David now, and Bella too. I love you forever and always.

Anthony was always special to me. I am devastated at the least to hear of his passing. He taught me so many things not only about work but life in general. My deepest condolonces go out to Sydney and the brothers. One thing is for sure, Anythony was greeted at those gates with open arms. We sure will miss him on earth. Until we meet again my friend.
