Anthony Alonzo Dumas

Anthony Dumas, 52 of Stamford, Connecticut passed away July 29, 2024. He was born November 11, 1972 to Delores Simmons (aka Dede Dumas), who was a hard working mother who worked two jobs to take care of her kids, she didn't play when it came to her kids. She loved Anthony, that was baby boy! She called him Mayor of Stamford because he knew everybody and everybody knew him. Earthquake was his other name because he was a busy body, very active and involved in everything.
Anthony met Nicole Newton in Stamford, CT. in 2002 and became one in 2007. Anthony didn't have any kids, but gained a beautiful daughter, Aisha Morse who loved her as his very own and played the role as a wonderful stepdad. Anthony worked at Stamford Hospital for 31 years as a cook, utility and dietary technician, who loved his job and gained many friends who became extended family. Everyone loved him because he was respectful, caring, loveable, kindhearted and always kept a smile on his face, with a pleasant countenance. He was always pleasant to his patients, especially those he knew, making sure their needs were met and even the visiting families. Anthony retired in 2022 due to his health decline, including renal issues and other health challenges that he met with great courage. Upon retirement Anthony loved spending time with family enjoyed cookouts, watching movies, attending events and enjoying music. He lived his life to the fullest, treasuring every moment. He was an avid storyteller and met his health challenges, defying the doctor's reports, living beyond a teenager until he transitioned at the age of 52, trusting the power of the goodness of God until the end.
Anthony was predeceased by Leon Hargrove (Uncle), his aunt Lurlene Marshall, his uncle Sammuel Waye, his grandmother Carrie Wayne and brother Curtis Tinnin. He is survived by his mother Delores, sister: Sharil Rhodes and husband Julius Rhodes, sister; Yvette T. Slade and husband Donald, brother; Ronald Dumas and wife Darlene and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2025 at 10:00 am at Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove St., Stamford, CT., Pastor Gerson Ramirez officiating. Interment will be private.
