Anthony Jerome Farano Sr. or Tony to his friends, born April 1st, 1931, in Bronx, NY to Mary and
Anthony Farano. Anthony spent his early years growing up in the Bronx, served during the Korean
War, married his childhood sweetheart, Violet Edith Teverbaugh (1931-2018) upon returning from
service, had three children, Anthony Roy Jr. (1955-2014), Mary Annette, and Mark Christopher
(1963-1993) and his granddaughter, Christina Maurer. He enjoyed his career as a newspaper
delivery man for the New York Daily News for several decades and used his down time to travel the
world with Violet. They spent most of their lives in Stamford, CT until retiring in Naples, FL Together
they had 64 beautiful years together until God called her home in January 2018. Anthony enjoyed
regaling people of his time spent traveling Europe during his service, the many trips he and Violet
took, and his colorful stories from his time driving the streets of New York delivering papers. He took
great joy in teaching his granddaughter Italian and the many other languages he picked up from his
years abroad and sharing his love of travel with her. Anthony was a devout Catholic and attended
mass weekly until the end. He passed away peacefully Monday, March 31st, 2025, just shy of his
94th birthday. He is survived by his daughter Mary Annette Maurer, granddaughter Christina and her
husband Brandon Campbell. Services will be held Monday April 7th at 9 AM at Gallagher Funeral
Home in Stamford, CT on Myrtle Ave., followed by mass at St. Leo's Parish in Stamford, CT at 11 AM
