Henrietta Adams, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born on December 18, 1933, in Stamford, Connecticut, Henrietta lived a life filled with love, resilience, and grace. She was known for her kindness, her unwavering strength, and the way she touched the lives of everyone she met.
Henrietta retired from Pitney Bowes after many years of dedicated service, where she was respected for her hard work, commitment, and the friendships she made along the way.
She was also an avid bowler and golfer, passions that brought her joy, friendship, and laughter throughout her life. Whether on the lanes or the fairway, she shared a spirit of fun and camaraderie with those around her.
In her later years, Henrietta lovingly cared for her husband, a reflection of her deep loyalty and compassion. Her husband will miss her terribly, as will all who were blessed to know her.
Above all, Henrietta cherished her family. She was the heart of her home-always ready with a warm smile, a listening ear, and a generous spirit.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Bertha Grabowski; her grandson, Conor Alderman; her sister, Helen Russo; and her brother, Thaddeus Grabowski.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Arthur; her sons, Arthur Adams Jr. and his wife Dawn, and William Adams and his wife Kathleen; her daughter, Susan Alderman, and her favorite son-in-law, Douglas. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Daniel, Katelyn, Morgan, and Hunter, and her great-grandchildren, Halee, Owain, and Molly; her sister, Josephine Bobinski; and her brother, Walter Grabowski.
A celebration of Henrietta's life will be held on Saturday, September 13, at St. Cecilia's Church at 10:30 a.m. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather, share memories, and honor her legacy. No calling hours will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to New Canaan Parent Support Group, NCCF, 111 Cherry Street, New Canaan, CT 06840. Henrietta's love, laughter, and light will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
