Anthony Fronk Obituary
Published by Legacy on Jul. 18, 2025.
Anthony David Fronk ("Tony"), born on February 27, 1948, in Hillsboro, WI, went to his eternal
home on July 5, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sandra; daughters, Jayne
and Jennifer (Joy) Islam; and granddaughters, Zoe, Savannah, and Bella. He is also survived by
his sisters, Monica Verbsky, Mary Lou (Ken) Bohlman, and Bette Roberts; sister-in-law, Carol;
and brother-in-law, Richard Housner. Tony was a cherished uncle and friend to many. He is
preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica; parents, Adolph and Hazel (Reed) Fronk; brothers,
Leo and Chuck (Nancy); brothers-in-law, Leo Verbsky and Kent Roberts; mother- and
father-in-law, Alice and Ernest Housner; and sisters-in-law, Sharon (Housner) Eastman and
Janice (Haenel) Housner.
Tony graduated from Hillsboro High School and briefly attended college in Platteville, WI, after
which he was drafted into the Army in 1968. He proudly served in Vietnam, where he dedicated
himself to the country he so deeply loved until his honorable discharge in 1970. Upon returning
home, he proposed to his high school sweetheart Sandy Housner, and the rest, as they say, is
history.
Tony was a risk taker by nature, always up for trying something new even if he had no idea how
to do it. This fearlessness was reflected in the wide variety of careers he had throughout his 77
years. One of his first jobs was driving a milk truck around the Hillsboro area with his friend
Dudley (and he had some terrific stories about those times!). He later drove semi for Nemec
Trucking and worked for Kickapoo Oil, where he was fortunate enough to work alongside some
of his closest friends. He then went on to work for Merrick Foods before buying a grocery store
in Kendall, WI, where he also became a butcher. After that, he spent some time at the John
Deere dealership in Hillsboro and also worked for Dairyland Auction out of Elroy.
Next, Tony spent over 20 years at Kwik Trip as a district supervisor. When he moved on from
there, he stayed true to his adventurous nature and tried his hand at a variety of occupations,
most of which he mastered. They include area supervisor for Cenex, stock market ventures,
lawn maintenance for Common Grounds Lawn & Landscaping, truck driving for a few different
companies, track maintenance at Canterbury Park in the summer, and snowplowing at the
Minneapolis Airport in the winter.
In the midst of the last five jobs, he retired about three times but was never one to remain idle
for long.
He loved riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family, and driving the RV he and his wife picked out together. Some of his greatest fulfillment came from giving back, by mentoring men at Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge and ministering in prisons throughout southern
Minnesota. At home, he enjoyed taking care of his lawn and doing projects around the house,
and he never missed a chance to celebrate a birthday or special moment. He showed his love
through simple, thoughtful gestures and was always intentional about spending quality time with his family.
Tony will be remembered for his quick wit, love of family, and deep-rooted faith in Jesus. He had a rare ability to bring joy and put people at ease, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who crossed his path.
We ask that you remember Tony not for the day he left us, but for the way he lived his life.
