Anthony J Galletta

Anthony Galletta, 79 years old, was born 12/31/1945 in New Dorp Beach Staten Island. He had a close and loving relationship with his late parents Josephine (Lala) and Rocky Galletta. He had very fond memories of growing up in New Dorp Beach, and cherished the lifelong friendships he made there.
He went to PS 41, graduated from McKee High School and was proud of the Carpentry Certificate he earned at night school.
He worked as a Union Carpenter on many big commercial sites, and later went on to work as a Pioneer school bus driver for many years, while also finding great satisfaction in his business, Anthony's Home Improvements.
He loved golf and classic cars, especially Corvettes. He was a proud member of the Richmond County Corvette Club. But most of all, he loved his family. He had 3 daughters with his first wife Josephine (nee Orsini) and was a devoted and loving father to Tammy Freeo, Toniann Canzoneri and Janine Camacho, and stepsons Julius and Frankie Nasso. He is survived by 11 grandchildren who adored him-Anthony and his fiancée Jenna, Richie, Francesca, Robert, Ryan, Giovanni, Gianna, Adriel, Julius, Leonidas and Gio, and his great-grandchildren Zaidyn and Giada. He was loved by his son-in-laws Richie Freeo and the late Freddy Camacho, and daughter-in-laws Ingrid and Christina Nasso. He was a beloved brother to his sister JoAnn (Cataneo) and her husband Joseph Nicosia. He will be missed by his loving brothers- and sisters-in law, many nieces and nephews, cousins and his nephews Johnny (Melissa) and David(Elaine) Cataneo and their children. He leaves behind his broken-hearted and devoted wife of almost 25 years Mary Nasso. Together they shared a beautiful life of love, laughter, adventure and many wonderful times with family and friends. He will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be held on Saturday November 8, 2025 from 4:00 pm - 8:00pm and Sunday November 9,2025 from 2:00pm - 6:00pm at Hanley Funeral Home, 60 New Dorp Lane, Staten Island.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday November 10, at 11am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 61 New Dorp Lane, Staten Island, A Private cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Anthony's memory.
