Daniel P. Driscoll, affectionately called Danny to his family and friends, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025 at Staten Island North Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on August 16, 1950 in Manhattan, Danny, was the beloved son of the late Daniel Driscoll and Josephine (Marasco) Driscoll. He is predeceased by his younger brother James Driscoll who passed in 1978 and is survived by his older sister, Diane Braendly and his brother-in-law, Captain Alan Braendly. Danny is also survived by his daughter, Kelly Beraud; his partner of 35 years, Susan Comery and her son Stephen; his nephew Kevin Braendly and his wife, Christine and his two nieces, Kathleen Daniello and her husband, Matthew and Diana Braendly; his grand-nieces and nephews, Lisette, Taylor, Braedan and Aaron.
Danny was a lifelong resident of New Dorp Beach since 1955. He graduated from New Dorp High School in 1967 and began working at Wagon Wheel furniture in Springville before becoming a member of the New York City Department of Sanitation, where he worked before retiring. Danny worked in district M3, Alphabet City. He was promoted to supervisor and relocated to Fresh Kills Landfill on Staten Island.
Throughout Danny's life, he was known for being close to his friends and family. In his younger years, Danny loved fishing off New Dorp Beach with his fishing pole, a chair and beer in hand. Later on he would take his nephew blue fishing off the party boats out of Belmar, NJ. He was also an avid card player and loved playing with his parents and Gerry DiConstanzo, before their passing. Danny was also a die-hard Yankee's fan. He loved going to the stadium for a game with family and friends throughout his life. He also created a tradition of taking his family to Camden Yards in Baltimore for a rival Yankees vs. Orioles game for the last 4 seasons. This created a fun rival with his Great Nephew who lives outside of Baltimore and is an Orioles fan. The family will continue this tradition in his honor. In his more recent years, Danny enjoyed getting away from Staten Island a couple of times a month to spend a night at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, where he joked that he was "leaving a donation", as he had fun playing the slots.
Danny was loved and will be missed by many.
