Dolores Scaduto

Dolores Scaduto, 98, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, New Jersey.
Born on July 31, 1927, in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, Dolores spent her early years in New York City. She later moved to Staten Island, where she was raised in the South Beach and Fort Wadsworth neighborhoods. A proud graduate of New Dorp High School, she carried with her a strong sense of community and family throughout her life.
Dolores shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband Leo. The couple tied the knot in 1947 and together they built a family rooted in love and devotion. In recent years, Dolores moved to Monroe, New Jersey to be closer to her family.
Family was at the heart of everything Dolores did. She was a devoted grandmother and her joy multiplied with the arrival of her cherished great-grandchildren.
Dolores had a zest for life that shone through in everything she did. She enjoyed bowling and reading, particularly novels written by Danielle Steele. Dolores found her greatest happiness in time spent with family. For over four decades, Wildwood Crest served as the backdrop for treasured family vacations; sun-soaked days filled with laughter and love that became cherished traditions. She also held fond memories of visits to Atlantic City and Saratoga Race Track.
Known for her kindness and warmth, Dolores cared deeply for those around her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her gentle spirit and unwavering love left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Dolores was predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years Leo and by her loving brother Victor Shaw.
Dolores is survived by her loving daughter Laura Russo and her husband Joe, by her adoring granddaughters Melissa Godaire and her husband Adam, and Stefanie Durnin and her husband Rory, by her cherished great grandchildren Isabella, Andrew, Brady, and Rylan, and by her caring brother Christ Shaw.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at St. Ambrose Church located at 81 Throckmorton Lane Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857.
Interment will be in Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
