STOW - Anthony F. Girolamo, 54, died November 1, 2025.

In Loving Memory of Captain Anthony “Big Tone” Girolamo

Born in Cleveland and raised in Twinsburg, Ohio. Beloved Captain, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend.

Anthony “Big Tone” Girolamo, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 1, 2025. Known to all as “Big Tone”, he was the heart and soul of Lake Erie. A man who knew its waters like the back of his hand.

As Captain of his beloved fishing boat, he guided countless friends, family and fellow fishermen through calm mornings and stormy afternoons alike. To those who joined him on the water, every trip was more than a catch - it was a lesson in patience, laughter and love for nature’s rhythm.

Big Tone’s laughter could be heard from the docks, his generosity extended to anyone who needed a hand, and his stories - often told over a good meal and better company - will echo in our hearts forever.

Preceded in death by his father, Anthony G. Girolamo, he is survived by his mother, Vera DiNatale; sisters, Nicole (Earl) DiMalanta and Carmie (Robert) Lembach; nephews, Parker, Jacob, Brayden and Joey DiMalanta; nieces, Alexa and Lauren Lembach, who adored him, and a wide circle of friends who became family over the years.

Though his boat is now at rest, his spirit sails on every sunrise over Lake Erie.

A celebration of life will be held in the summer, where he along with his father, will take one last ride on Lake Erie. In honor of Big Tone, the family invites all who knew him to share stories and memories - just as he would have wanted, with warmth, laughter and love.

“Fair winds and following seas, Captain.”
