Anthony Howard, 69 of Aledo, died Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Arcadia of Aledo. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg, Illinois. Military Honors will be given by the Aledo American Legion. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo is assisting the family.
Anthony was born on March 19, 1956, in Muscatine, Iowa to Walter Lee & Leora Hazel (Titus) Howard. He attended high school, but left for the United States Army where he served from March 1977 to June 1983 as a Cavalry Scout Driver, spending some time in Germany.
Anthony is survived by his siblings: Richard Truitt, William Truitt, Steven Howard, Zelpha Allen, George Howard, Clarence Howard, Audrey Nylin, Phillipine Richardson, Ezra Howard and Linda Watts; an aunt, Lucy Gallor and uncle, Mike Titus and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marilyn James and 2 brothers, Gerald Howard and Walter Howard Jr.
