Anthony was born on June 23, 1947, in Atlanta, GA to Anthony and Eunice Gail (nee Strickland) Iorio (both deceased) and passed away on May 24, 2025.
Throughout his career, Anthony served many local hospitals with expertise and care, ensuring patients received the critical medical support they needed. His meticulous work in cross-matching blood donors for the Blood Bank saved countless lives, a reflection of his steadfast commitment to others. Outside of his profession, Anthony found deep fulfillment in his faith, serving as a lay minister and offering guidance, comfort, and wisdom to those around him. His love for nature drew him to the tranquility of tending to his saltwater fish. A skilled cook, Anthony delighted in preparing Italian meals, bringing family and friends together over plates of pasta and shared laughter. His passion for music led him to the piano, where his melodies brought joy to those around him and served yet another testament to his warm and generous spirit.
Anthony's unwavering compassion, generosity, and dedication to both his work and passions touched all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones and the countless lives he impacted. Anthony is the beloved husband of James Garrett, son-in-law of Helen Kebort; brother-in-law of Gary Garrett, Clarence Garrett, Jr., Betty Garrett and Donald Garrett; uncle of Roslyn Scruton, Rose Scruton and Rochell Schell; great uncle of many; pet parent of Tigger, Trouble, and Tribble.
