Anthony (Tony) Lilley, 82, of Easley, South Carolina, passed away on October 10, 2025.
Born near London, England to Irish parents, Tony left school at 15 to support his family. At 18, he joined the British Royal Navy, working with radios and developed a lifelong interest in technology. After his service, he worked during the day and studied accounting at night, eventually landing a job with a Canadian mining company in London, where he quickly became the office computer expert.
Tony was later invited to join the company’s head office in Toronto, where he and his wife, Sarah, relocated. In 1999, a new job brought him to Maryland, and in 2002, he moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where he worked until his retirement.
In retirement, Tony loved the simple pleasures — especially helping in his daughter’s garden, tending flowers and shrubs with quiet dedication. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic and deep love for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sarah Lilley; daughters, Heather Lilley and Emma Riley (Sean); and grandchildren, Phoenix and Arden Riley.
