Anthony J. Marrazzo, Jr.
Of West Newton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, June 30, 2024 in his home after years of heart-related health issues, just shy of his 42nd birthday. Anthony was born with a genetic disorder caused by a small deletion of chromosome 22q which resulted in multiple health issues that progressed with age.
Although he endured chronic pain most of his adult life, that didn't stop Anthony from enjoying the simple pleasures, including watching movies, his favorite television shows, and especially Bruins games with his dad and others who would stop by. He loved cooking for his family and friends, including his famous pasta and meatballs, and was always happy enjoying a great meal with them.
Anthony's passion was growing and cultivating "the herb" and sharing his bounty with those closest to him. He was a kind and loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many, with a great sense of humor who always tried to make others laugh and smile.
He is survived by his beloved parents, Anthony J. "Toot" and Jeanne (Greco) Marrazzo of West Newton; his devoted & loving sister & brother, Jeanine Figueroa and her husband Sean of West Newton and James "Jamie" Marrazzo of Marlborough; as well as his cherished nephews Luke, Alex and Jacob. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and shared a special relationship with his Aunt Cheryl (mom #2) Greco.
Those who wish to pay their respects to Anthony and his family can do so in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham, on Wednesday, July 17th from 10:00 am to 12 pm noon. Parking attendants will be on duty. For those who wish to pay their final respects but are unable to attend, please be sure to sign the guestbook at www.BrascoFuneralhome.com.
Family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Anthony's life on what would have been his 42nd birthday, July 17th, to remember the love and friendship he shared with so many during a Funeral Service at the conclusion of visiting hours in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Wednesday afternoon July 17th at 12 pm. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Waltham.

Anthony,

I can't possibly put into words the loss that is felt. During our childhood we were the best of friends. Countless times spent at each others houses, cub scouts, trips to New Hampshire, The Boston I, and so many memories to name. Family life certainly took ahold of us the past few years, but we were like brothers since the beginning. All the great times we spent together I'll always cherish forever. Until we meet again my friend.

Jeanne, Toot, Jamie, Jeanine, and the whole family - Thank you for welcoming me into your home all those years and treating me like your own. I am incredibly sorry I cannot be there to celebrate his life on his birthday. A dire work commitment, childcare, and getting enough time to travel from south Florida has proven to be set an unfortunate set of circumstances that I couldn't avoid. Anthony was one of a kind, and I'll forever be grateful for the times that we've had.

Much Love -

Anthony's door was always open to his nephews. If we didn´t know where one was, we could always find them with Uncle. Despite Anthony´s health condition he always greeted me with truly open arms and some home made treats. Dear Anthony you are now free to run with the angels.
