Anthony Orazio Mattei

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Anthony Orazio Mattei born on September 12, 1959, who went home to our Lord on April 3, 2025. He was predeceased by his parents Silvio and Amelia (Civitillo) Mattei and his brother Albert (AnneMarie) Mattei of North Haven, bringing solace to those who know they are together once more. Anthony was a devoted husband to his loving wife Patricia Mattei and a loving and devoted father to his daughter, Amelia Mattei (Vincent Celentano) of Wallingford. He is survived by his three sisters Mary Ramirez of New Haven, Carol Boroski of Wallingford, and Susan (Raymond) Vessicchio of East Haven. Anthony had many nieces and nephews, Andrea, David, Anthony, Michael (Godson), Nicholas, Ryan, Amber, Cori, and step-children Joseph (deceased), Matthew, Clara and Nicholas (Skyler) Pagliaro, and step-grandchildren Rylie and Joey Pagliaro.Anthony was a very determined, resilient, and generous man who worked at General Tire as a Regional Sales Manager, owned GLM roofing and United Roofing. A man of many passions, Anthony had a deep love for fishing, restoring classic cars, going to car shows, and cooking big Italian meals. He was an avid sports enthusiast, especially for his beloved Yankees. Anthony enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, The Beatles, and loved to dance. He was a proud friend of Bill W. Anthony most importantly loved spending time with his family, friends, and all of his dogs which he cherished deeply.His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd (Rte 80) East Haven Thursday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. John Bosco Parish at St. Therese Church, 105 Leetes Island Rd. in Branford at 11:00. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. Friends may call THURSDAY MORNING from 8:30-10:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in his memory.
