Anthony Miliote Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Anthony Miliote, 81, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 30, 1944, in the Bronx, New York, to Sam and Adele Miliote, Anthony grew up in Little Italy, Manhattan, where his lifelong passions first took root-baseball, photography, and the simple joy of hard work. As a boy, he collected baseball cards and comic books, and a small Kodak camera given to him by his grandparents sparked what became a lifelong love for photography.
A devoted New York Yankees fan, Anthony idolized Mickey Mantle and loved nothing more than a good game, a great photo, or a well-earned victory at the pool table. He was an exceptional amateur photographer, capturing the beauty of his travels across every U.S. state and much of Europe. His favorite destination was always Sicily, where he felt closest to his heritage.
Anthony's career on Wall Street spanned more than three decades. A self-made man who worked his way up without a college degree, he began his career in 1969 and retired as Senior Vice President of Derivatives and Options at Morgan Stanley. He worked on the 66th floor of Tower Two at the World Trade Center, where he was present during the 1993 bombing. On that day, he safely evacuated his entire office-shepherding colleagues down 120 flights of stairs. Remarkably, Anthony retired just ten days before the September 11, 2001 attacks.
He was a man of many talents. He was an avid traveler, skilled handyman who could build or fix anything, and lover of life on the open road, whether in his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle or behind the wheel of his beloved 1970 Corvette Stingray.
Anthony retired to Murrells Inlet 24 years ago, where he and his wife built a beautiful life together filled with family, friends, and travel. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Gloria (Greco) Miliote, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond and deep love. He was also especially close to Gloria's parents, Dominic and Ida Greco.
Anthony leaves behind his four children, Anthony (Heather), Dena (Matthew Zaleski), Gregg (Britta), and Michael (Amber), and six cherished grandchildren: Anthony, Brooke, Gianna, Ryan, Marshall, and Michael. He is also survived by his brother, Roger Miliote.
He was preceded in death by his sister JoMarie.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, November 10, 2025 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel in Murrells Inlet with a repass to follow at LaTrattoria in Murrells Inlet. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service..
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or the Head and Neck Cancer Living Foundation.
Anthony will be remembered as a man of integrity, warmth, and resilience-a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who worked hard, loved deeply, and always lived life to the fullest.
