Tony Mueller, of Sherwood, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on August 28, 2022. He was born in Appleton on July 8, 1939, the second son of the late Clarence and Walberga Bob Thiel) Mueller. While growing up, Tony worked stocking shelves and making deliveries for the general store owned by his parents in Sherwood. After graduating from St. Mary High School, Tony attended Wisconsin State College and the Oshkosh Institute of Technology and Science. He proudly served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, stationed in the Philippines. After his honorable discharge, Tony returned to Sherwood and began a long career at American Can where he worked in their quality control department, as well as working at the family store. Tony retired from American Can in 1998 after purchasing TJ Foods in Sherwood, which he operated until its closure in 2006. Tony belonged to St. John Sacred Heart Parish and the American Legion Post 496 in Sherwood. He enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers while attending all their home games at Lambeau Field for many years. Highlights included attending Super Bowl 31 in New Orleans and Super Bowl 32 in San Diego. In his later years, Tony enjoyed watching western movies and waiting on customers at the family store with his sister Mary Jo.
Tony is survived by his sister Mary Jo Mueller of Sherwood; brother John (Carol) Mueller of De Pere; nieces and nephews: John Jr. (Carla) Mueller of Richmond, VA; Michael (Sally) Mueller of Lake Elmo, MN; Julie (Allan) Trafton of Milwaukee; Matthew (Cynthia) Mueller of De Pere; Mark (Jennifer) Mueller of Cincinnati, OH; Cynthia Schindler of Apple Valley, MN; Gottfried Freddie Audra) Haas of Appleton; Katrina Mueller (Murat Han Yildirim) of Toms River, NJ; and Freddie and Katrina s mother, Angelika Haas of Appleton. Tony is also survived by numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his brother Carl Geoff Mueller and beloved second mom Ann Zahringer.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 6, at 2:00 p.m., at St. John - Sacred Heart Parish, N369 Military Road, Sherwood, WI, with Father Michael Betley officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Mass.
