Anthony Murph Obituary
Tony was born on May 19, 1961, in Beloit, Wisconsin, the son of Calvin Anthony and Dorothy Grace (Cousins) Murph. In 1979, Tony enlisted in the United States Navy. He served his country for over seven years on active duty and then continued his Navy career by serving in the Naval Reserves. In 1995, Tony married the love of his life, Kimberly Renee Russell.
After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Tony completed his education by attending DePaul University. He began a long, successful career in Corporate America. Tony served in many global roles for several organizations such as Anderson Consulting, Anixter International, Accenture, Allstate Insurance, Barclays. Once leaving corporate America, Tony created the ACME Sourcing Group.
Tony accepted Christ at an early age. He loved God, his family, sports, and music. Tony will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a loving and caring husband, brother, father and generous man by all who knew him.
Tony is survived by his wife, Kimberly; children, Savonta (Cynthia) Murph, Amani Murph, Anthony Murph II, Rashad Johnson, Kyle Murph, Kalib Murph, and Kynnedy Murph; seven grandchildren; siblings, Victor Murph, Kevin Murph Sr, and Bethany Bolton; aunts, Inez Wilson, and Ludie Gardner; a grandmother (Gladys) sister-in-law, Karen Russell along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews including a special nephew, Kevin Murph Jr and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Adrion Murph; and a brother, Brian Ware.
Funeral services are 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023, at New Zion Baptist Church, 1905 Mound Avenue, Beloit, Wisconsin 53511. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Committal with military honors will follow the service at Eastlawn Cemetery in Beloit, Wisconsin. I remember meeting Murph at Allstate as he was introduced as a Sr. Director in Sourcing and Procurement Solutions (SPS) under the leadership of Cheryl Harris. This was by far, if not one of the smartest men and mentor that I ever had. His wisdom expands beyond the short time he was with us on this Earth. I pray that there is a special place in heaven for Murph and that we all meet again on the other side someday.
