Anthony Picerno Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Quinn Funeral Home - Warwick on Oct. 18, 2024.
Anthony A. Picerno, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 17, 2024 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Carol A. Picerno (Andrade) for 59 years. Born in Providence, Anthony was the devoted son of the late Louis and Josephine Picerno (Mancuso). In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Deneane M. Spaziano and her husband Gregory, Tracy A. Peasley and her husband Kurt, as well as Dr. Toni H. Picerno and her husband James Reynolds. Anthony also leaves behind 7 loving grandchildren: Kohl, Brent, Corey, Brooke, Katelyn, James and Amy; his brother John Picerno and his wife Mary of Winter Garden, Florida; as well as many members of his extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his grandson Daniel Reynolds.
A man of great faith, Anthony was a proud member of the Men of St. Joseph, Saints Rose & Clement Chapter, and willingly volunteered his time and service at the Church. He was a loyal employee of the Providence Journal, and more recently at Federated Lithographers Printers for over 20 years. In his free time, he very much enjoyed playing cards with his friends at the Warwick Senior Center, watching his beloved Yankees play and cherished the time he spent attending his grandchildren's sporting events and concerts. Above all, Anthony loved his family who will all miss him dearly. His family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at Saint Elizabeth Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, especially Isabel, for the great care and attention they showed.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 8:45am in Saints Rose & Clement Church, 111 Long St, Warwick. Anthony's burial will take place following Mass in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. I will miss my dear friend Tony who always made me laugh.
Whether playing bocce or hi-lo-jack, or during our
after-Mass conversations, you were always crackerjack
with your dry wit and humor. As a faithful member
of the Men of St. Joseph, your memory will be cherished.
Your story of meeting your life-long love Carol in grade school
is one for the archives. Yes, Tony, there is baseball in heaven,
and this year you're in the dug-out rooting for your treasured
Yankees. Save us all a seat.
