82, of Johnston passed away Monday August 11, 2025 at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of Beverly A. (Martinelli) Picerno. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Carlo and Margaret (DiPalma) Picerno.
Carl was a recruiter and Senior Master Sgt. for the Air National Guard for 33 years then worked for the US Postal Service for 16 years before retiring. He enjoyed racket ball, hand ball and going to the beach with his family and enjoyed a good cigar and a drink with his close friends.
Besides his wife he was the devoted father of Carl A. Picerno Jr. and Mark Picerno, stepfather of Cheryl Saccoccio, Tammy Bilodeau and Fred Paiano and his wife Charleen loving grandfather of three, loving step grandfather of five and predeceased by one step grandchild. He is also survived by three great step grandchildren, and dear brother of Janice Curtis.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday August 19, 2025 at 9:45 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Augustine’s Church 639 Mt Pleasant Ave. Providence at 11 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park Johnston.
Visiting hours are Monday August 18, 2025 from 4 pm – 7pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude’s Place Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
