Anthony Rebaldo Obituary

Rebaldo, Anthony Joseph "Tony", 68, a Baton Rouge, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2014, following a courageous battle with cancer. Tony is survived by his wife Rebecca Cox Rebaldo, sons Dustin and Kevin; grandchildren, Gabriella, Marissa, Jeffrey, Jr., and Mason; mother and father-in-law, Rosie and Sherwood Cox; sister, Vita Rebaldo Stevens, as well as many other friends and relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Leon Rebaldo and son Jeffrey. Tony graduated from Catholic High School in 1965 and served in the U.S. Army with his brother Abe Ross. Tony served the Baton Rouge community as a barber for many years and has been known by many as "Tony the Barber". Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 1pm until a memorial service will be held at 2pm. Tony cut my hair since a little boy age 10 I'm now 45 I went by saw the sign many times gone for test I really will and do miss him we had many laughs and conversions I will miss him

I was shocked to see that Tony passed away even though I knew he was ill. We both had similar illnesses & he told me what to expect on one particular procedure last year. He nailed it.
I have known him for years & years. It was an experience to have Tony cut my hair. It wasn't just the great haircut but the conversations we had especially when no one else was in the shop. We were both irreverent talking about a variety of subjects & I believe I always left laughing.
Tony was a hard worker & excellent craftsman. I will miss him not only as my barber but as a friend.
My thoughts are with his family.

I was stunned when I heard of Tony's death. I've been friends with Tony since Sacred Heart. He was a groomsman in my wedding. i stayed at his parents' house when my parents went out of town. He was my barber since as far back as I can remember. i feel as though I have lost a brother. I will miss him dearly. Rest in peace my best friend. You will be missed. God be with you.

So sorry to here about Tony. He began cutting my son's hair more than10 years ago and my son's really got along well with him. He even joked around with me, the Mom, and we will miss him very much!

I am so sad to see such a great man lost!!! He was my Godfather and was always there for me growing up! He made my day just to walk next door to his barber shop and see him smile! I always loved to "escape" my Dad's shop and go to his! He was a wonderful man and I'm truly sad for the loss of him! I love you Tony!! You will be missed!!!

Anthony Joe was a dear cousin and even though we saw each other rarely over the years, I spent a great deal of time with him as a child and young adult. Tony cut my hair for almost 25 years and even though I never once saw him outside of his shop, he was like a friend. We discussed everything from sports to politics during my visits and he always had a humorous spin on whatever we were discussing.. He truly was an "old school" barber. They don't make 'em like Tony anymore! Life takes sudden turns for us all sometimes; it was just this past March when Tony cut my hair for the final time. RIP good man!

Tony was my barber since 1994, even after we moved to Denham Springs area almost 3 years ago. I always enjoyed discussing football and other things when in his shop. His loss will be felt by those who knew him. Rest in peace, Tony.

Mr. Tony has been my barber since 2000, when I was only six years old. My heart is breaking as I hear this sad news. Anthony,as I always called him, was a kind and dear friend from as far back as Sacred Heart School. I was privileged to have spent 8 years enjoying his friendship.and then also at Catholic High with my now husband. Tony was a great friend, counselor, and Barber to all that entered his shop. He touched the hearts of all he came in contact with just through his warmth and lending an ear. He was a third parent to many of this kids on the Woodlawn football team during the 80's and he will surely be missed.
