Anthony Renzi Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chadwick & McKinney Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 27, 2026.
Anthony Lewis Renzi, 84, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026. He was born in St. Davids, Pennsylvania, on the grounds of Walton Estate (now part of Eastern University), the youngest of Luigi and Katharine (Henry) Renzi's six children.

Tony graduated from St. Katharine of Siena Catholic School in Wayne and attended Villanova University. His college tenure was cut short when he entered the U.S. Army, a member of the 1st Signal Battalion where he was stationed in Germany from 1964 through 1966. He later worked in administration at Volkswagen and Subaru prior to pivoting into freelance consultancy, presenting business seminars and piloting a time-management system. His "retirement" career at St. David's Golf Course entailed landscaping, a skill he also applied to the garden of the Bala Cynwyd house he lived in for many happy decades with his second wife, Ruthanne (Raker), who passed away in 2019.

Tony was a lifelong acoustic and electric guitar enthusiast, teaching music lessons and playing at church in his young adult days; more recently, listening to classical music provided much comfort during his health struggles. He had a love of words and language, and it gave him significant joy to have taught himself conversational Spanish in his mature years.

Tony is survived by Chris Renzi and Jen Renzi (Carlos Salgado), his children from his first marriage; stepson David Ian Raker (Linda); granddaughter Soli Salgado; step-grandchildren Andrew Edward Raker and Leatitia Lloyd; brother-in-law John Johnstone; nephews and nieces Eugene Renzi (Darla), Paula Hines, Joseph Renzi (Mara Fisher), Heather Moyer (Bill), Eric Harkins (Tara), and several grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his siblings: Joseph Renzi, Elizabeth Renzi Kerr, Marie ("Bob") Renzi, Eugene Renzi, and Katharine Renzi Harkins.
