Anthony Scelsa Obituary
Anthony J. Scelsa, III of Milltown, NJ passed away at home on October 2, 2023.
He bravely fought a three month battle with brain cancer.
Tony had a zillion people who loved him. He knew how to make a friend and be a friend. Charming, gracious, and always ready to help others aptly describes him.
He was a member of Carpenters Local 1006. He served in New Jersey Building Code Enforcement until retirement.
His greatest joy was raising his three sons from boys to men and helping to guide them as they raised their own families.
Tony is survived by his wife of 46 years Janis; sons Russell, Lucas, and Jacob; daughters-in-law April and Courtney; grandchildren Vivian, Emmett, Parker, and Rosie; and sister and brother-in-law Diane and Jim Downey.
His favorite place to charitably give was the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Family and friends will be received for a memorial visitation on Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown. Final disposition is private.

Tony always brought so much life to gatherings and could always make us laugh. Let us always remember the good times and all the happy memories we each have had with Tony. We are all Blessed to have crossed paths with such a great person. Happy Birthday Tony! May God Bless and watch over your Family.

janis, please except my sincere condolences to you your sons and the rest of the family. Cousin Anthony was one of the few to welcome me with open arms when i married into the family. He went out of his way to be warm and kind to me always. I shared with Diane the other day a memory my daughter has from years ago that she never forgot. we came up from florida for jean´s (ferrari) funeral and jess was 7 years old and didn´t know a sole. we were at the funeral home and she was lost, who comes and scoops her up but cousin anthony. he took her outside told her he had fresh bagels in his car made her one and sat with her outside. When i told her about anthony she told me the story again. sorry...didn´t mean to ramble but wanted to share. i pray for you and your family and send my love.
