Lavenia & Summers Home for Funerals - IndianapolisIt is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Anthony T. Sommerville, age 19, of Fort Wayne, IN. Anthony was born in Naperville, IL on March 29, 2006. Anthony was the beloved son of Antonette McCaster, Indianapolis, IN; brother to Danielle Strickland of Fort Wayne, IN; grandson of Earl (Emma) McCaster, Elkhart, IN, Essie McCaster, Indianapolis, IN and Francine Sommerville Bostice, Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Mark Sommerville; loving father, Trevon Sommerville; and grandfathers, Alvin Sommerville and CJ Bostice.
He earned his high school diploma in 2023 and quickly decided on his desire to earn a degree as an electrician and moved to Fort Wayne to pursue a degree. He earned a Technical Certificate, Electrical Specialist from Ivy Tech Community College in May 2025. He was National Center for Construction Education and Research certified in Core Construction, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3.
From a young age, Anthony loved to entertain family and strangers alike with his big personality, antics and instant splits. He was a showman and never missed an opportunity to shine. He was a dedicated Boy Scout for several years and an avid martial artist. He trained for years and was a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He picked up crochet hooks and needles at an early age and you could still find him wearing a bag or some creation that he was in the process of crocheting. He loved to travel and was always down for a cruise. He enjoyed gaming, building computers and cooking, he was always trying to make the perfect omelet.
Anthony was an avid craftsman, and he loved working with his hands. From working on gas powered bikes or vehicles, he was always tinkering, taking things apart and fixing them.
Anthony was hardworking and a dedicated employee at the Recovery Room in Fort Wayne, IN since August 2024. He also held a part time position at Oh Five Scoop Shop.
Anthony leaves behind not only his immediate family but also a circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. May Anthony rest in peace and may his bigger than life personality never be forgotten.
