Dr. Antoine C Chaker

The loving Dr. Antoine C. Chaker MD, 83, passed away peacefully at home in Toms River, New Jersey surrounded by his family. He was known fondly to many as Dr. Chaker, to his friends as Tony, but perhaps his favorite titles in life were Dad to his children, and Jiddo to his grandchildren.
Antoine was born in Beirut, Lebanon to Claire and Cesar Chaker on August 21, 1941. He graduated from the French Faculty of Medicine, Saint Joseph University Medical School in 1968. He began his residency at New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, specializing in Ear Nose & Throat medicine, Facial Plastic & Reconstructive surgery, and Head & Neck surgery. In 1976, he began his practice in Toms River, while working at Community Medical Center until his retirement in 2020. Antoine received many awards and honors throughout his life, and was involved with many charities and organizations within our community. When not devoted to his work, Antoine always spent his time with his family and friends. He loved traveling to visit them abroad and to his favorite place, the "happy island" of Aruba.
Antoine is survived by his wife Vera Chaker, son Cesar-Antoine Chaker, daughters Theresa Manzo and husband Rick, Diana Brush and husband John, Monique Schneider and husband Sam, as well as his grandchildren, Sofia, Noella and Bryan Manzo, Christopher, Andrew, Luke and Matthew Brush and Liliana and Olivia Schneider. Antoine is also survived by his brother-in-law Georges Abi-Yaghi and nephews Tanios and Allen Abi-Yaghi.
There will be a viewing for Dr. Antoine Chaker at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 4pm-8pm. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday at 10am at Saint Joseph's Church in Toms River with an entombment to follow at Saint Joseph's Cemetery in Toms River.
