Antoinette W. Helem

Antoinette Helem, 59, of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024 at the Mt. Triumph Baptist Church. The burial of cremains will follow at North Town Cemetery, McAlester, Oklahoma.
Antoinette Helem was born on November 25, 1964 in McAlester, Oklahoma to the late Matthew Walters and Jewell Williams. She accepted Christ into her life at the Church of Christ and was a baptized member of Mt. Triumph Baptist Church. She was also president of the usher board, assistant Jr. MLK Choir Leader, Raising-Up Ruth and Youth Department Assistant.
Antoinette graduated from McAlester High School in 1984 as Valedictorian of her class. After graduation, she went on to continue her education at Southeastern, completing her bachelor of science degree. She also taught at the Choctaw Nation Headstart and Jefferson Elementary. Moving on to being the Director of Widening Horizons Daycare for 5 years. She had an immense love for teaching and children. She was a big sister, mother, and loving wife.
On Saturday, March 23, 2024, Antoinette made her transition home to be with the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her father: Matthew Walters; her mother: Jewell Williams; her mother-in-law: Violet Helem; her son: Lyndon Walters; and grandfathers: Cornillus Walters; and John Henry Brown.
Living to cherish her memories are her daughters: Sheleeka Estwick, LaShawnda Walters, LaToya Walters, Janay Walters, and Brittney Newman; her sons: Phillip Walters, Lyndon Walters, Tyrone Walters, and Jamil Walters; her grandchildren: LaRyan Estwick, Kamary Estwick, Tristan Walters, Gia Damron, Keilin Holden, Kajua Walters, Kahleeha Walters, Henry Walters, Miracle Walters, Kya Walters, Atlee Newman, and Wyatt Newman; granddaughter-in-law: Searra Estwick; brothers: Ervin Walters, and Arnold Walters, Jr.; along with numerous other family members and friends.
