Antoinette Larkin Obituary

Antoinette (Toni) J. Larkin, age 95, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the people she loved most in the world on September 9, 2025. Born May 8, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to Peter and Frances Messana, Toni was the third of four children. She grew up in Detroit and Mt. Clemens, attending St. Cyril grade school and Mt. Clemens High. She went on to marry her (deceased) husband Mitch, with whom she had three children, who were the light of her life.

Toni had a natural gift for music and art, and was an exceptional floral arranger and gardener. She won ribbons and awards for her beautiful arrangements, displayed annually at the Michigan State Fair. She loved opera and classical music, and played piano for many years.

Toni had a heart of pure gold, and a gift for saying the perfect thing at the right time. She deeply loved her family, and there was nothing she wouldn't gladly do for them. Her love knew no limits, and everyone around her felt her boundless warmth and devotion.

Toni's cooking was exquisite, always lovingly prepared and every bite absolutely delicious. Her holiday meals brought everyone together and created a lifetime of priceless memories.

Toni will always be remembered for her great beauty, generosity, love of people and animals, heart of gold, wisdom when everyone else is tongue tied, and her limitless love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy.

Toni was the beloved mother of Ron (Pam), Michelle (Jim), and the late Jerry. Loving Nana of Adrienne (Dan), Niki, and Gabriel (Paulina); proud great Nana of Max, Julian, and Christian. Favorite fun loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 3-8pm with a Rosary 7:00pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Ave., Royal Oak.

Funeral Mass, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, 10:00 am, Holy Name Catholic Church, 630 Harmon St., Birmingham. Visitation begins at 9:30am.

Final resting will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
