Shawn Richard Cioffi of Royal Oak, Michigan passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025.
Loving father of Jackson Cioffi and Joseph Cioffi. Son of Rick Cioffi and the late Mona Cioffi. Brother of April Quinn (Kevin) and Derek Cioffi (Holly). Uncle of Cait Murphy (George), Drew Quinn, Grant Cioffi, and William Cioffi. Also survived by the mother of his children, Carrie McGuire (Sean), as well as the maternal grandmother of his children, Sue Jayroe (Rick).
Shawn was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, as the youngest of three children. Shawn attended Our Lady of Lasallete for primary school and graduated from Berkley High School. Shawn later attended Michigan State University, where he studied History, in preparation for attending law school. Upon graduation, Shawn enrolled at Wayne State University, obtaining his Juris Doctorate and began working as an associate at Sheehan and Associates, later continuing his practice at Kotz, Sangster, & Wysocki. His dedication to his clients and colleagues established him as a highly respected litigator and advocate.
More importantly, Shawn was a dedicated and loving father to Jackson and Joseph. His boys were his world, with all of his free time dedicated to them, taking Jack and Joe to family favorites such as Silver Lake Dune, Niagara Falls, and Disney World. Additionally, Shawn's love of music and movies is a passion they shared as a family. Endless trips to the record store, family movie nights, tickets to concerts, and weekends camping at music festivals were all part of the joy they experienced together. Shawn and Carrie set the standard for co-parenting with love, mutual respect, and a family-first approach. The blended Cioffi & McGuire families showcased the seamless bonds of love and friendship through collective family gatherings, vacations, birthdays, and celebrations. Shawn's generous love and energy will always be present and he will never be forgotten. His memory will live on within all of us.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 2:00pm-8:00pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel) 32515 Woodward Ave (between 13-14 Mile) Royal Oak, MI 48073.
A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 11:00am. Visitation begins at the funeral home at 10:00am.
