ANTONIO REYES AGUILAR

JANUARY 4, 1962 – OCTOBER 10, 2025

PHOENIX, ARIZONA

Antonio “Tony” Aguilar of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on January 4, 1962, to Leopoldo C Aguilar and Irene Garcia. Tony was a beloved Son, Father, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend.

Tony attended Phoenix Union High School and graduated in 1980. Tony became the star quarterback as a freshman and held that title all 4 years of high school. He was homecoming king and took his wrestling team to State Championship and won. Tony was very athletic. He excelled in every sport he competed in, whether it was football, basketball, racquetball, handball and even became a professional boxer for a short time after high school. He made any sport look easy. He was good at everything and had a mean sky hook. Tony was the biggest Los Angeles Rams fan all his life. He talked about the Rams all the time. Even during off season.

Another thing that made Tony happy was spending time with his grandchildren. Tony was a giver. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He helped move people, he helped take care of children, he helped clean. He didn’t complain about anything. He would give his last dollar to someone if they needed it. He was generous, compassionate and loved everyone.

Tony will be remembered for making the BEST mouthwatering, homemade tortillas and his dance moves. He was a hard worker and inspiration to never give up. He was a baby whisperer, and would give you a heart attack as he stood your toddler up, in one hand, in the air. Who will forget his early morning phone calls saying, “Time to wake up, Captain Crunch!”. His sense of humor always had people laughing. Some of his good famous catch phrases were, “You’re alright! I don’t care what they say about you!”, “Who does that?”, “I’m the next best thing to your dad!” And we can’t forget, “You’re a gentleman and a scholar and a judge of good whiskey!”

Tony leaves behind 5 children: Anthony Lopez (Brittany) Priscilla Conchos (Joseph) Maritza Copeland (Tanner), Vanessa Conchos (Travis) and MariaElena Aguilar (Khalis). 15 Grandchildren: Amya, Thea, Nathaniel Jr., Jadyn, Justice, Alyssa, “Blue”, Emma, Harlem, Javi, Alexis, Christopher “Guero”, Santino, Nataliah and Armani and 1 Great Grandchild, Evan. Tony is also survived by his loving brothers and sisters: Isabel Servin, Juan (Yvonne) Aguilar; Ramon (Carol) Garcia; Alberto (Terry) Aguilar; Iesha Garcia; Roberto (George) Bejarano; Irene (Tony) Valencia; Leopoldo Aguilar Jr.; Jesus Aguilar; David (Anjanette) Aguilar; Isabel Aguilar and (Henry); Raquel Aguilar. As well as many nieces and nephews.

To honor Tony and his extraordinary life a Celebration of Life Memorial will be held from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Reclaim Church at 8615 W. Kelton Lane, Unit 309, Peoria, Arizona 85382. All are welcome to share memories and reflect on this beautiful persons life.

Tony will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him. Tony believed in the Lord and we take comfort in knowing he is now with Him in paradise.
