Guillermina R. Aguilar, age 70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at her home in Romeoville, Illinois.
Guillermina, affectionately known as "Lilia" or "Gigi", lived her life guided by love, generosity, and compassion. She had a special gift for nurturing plants, and her home was always filled with color and life, a reflection of her kind and caring spirit. A truly gifted cook, she brought family and friends together around her table, creating moments of laughter, warmth, and connection that will be remembered forever.
Throughout her life, Guillermina cared for countless children as a nanny, becoming like family to many of them. Her patience, kindness, and selflessness left an imprint that will never fade. She was a pillar of her community, always showing up for others during their hardest times, offering comfort, strength, and even the very shirt off her back if it meant helping someone in need.
Guillermina had a natural way of bringing people together. She formed friendships with people of all ages and backgrounds, uniting them through her warmth, generosity, and joy. Her legacy of friendship and compassion will live on through the many lives she touched.
She loved music and singing, and her joyful voice often filled her home, a reflection of her deep love for life and the people around her.
Guillermina is survived by her beloved husband Joaquín Aguilar, her devoted daughter Jennifer Aguilar, her loving siblings Ángel Bernabé Rodríguez, Reyna Rodríguez, Inés Fuentes Rodriguez, Carmen Fuentes Rodríguez, Fernando Fuentes Rodríguez, and Natalia Fuentes Rodriguez, and her many nieces and nephews who adored her.
She is preceded in death by her birth parents, Josefina Rodríguez Degante and Emeterio López, her adoptive parents, Juana Rodríguez Degante and Mauro Fuentes Garcia, and her sister Petronila Fuentes Rodríguez.
Guillermina will be remembered as a woman of immense heart, someone who gave without hesitation, loved deeply, and lifted the spirits of everyone she met. Her kindness, friendship, and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Guillermina, cariñosamente conocida como "Lilia" y "Gigi", vivió una vida guiada por el amor, la generosidad y la compasión. Tenía un don especial para cuidar las plantas, y su casa siempre estaba llena de color y vida, reflejo de su espíritu bondadoso. Era una cocinera excepcional que reunía a su familia y amigos alrededor de su mesa, creando momentos llenos de risa, cariño y unión que siempre serán recordados.
Durante muchos años, Guillermina cuidó con amor a numerosos niños como niñera, convirtiéndose en parte importante de muchas familias. Su paciencia, ternura y entrega dejaron una huella imborrable. También fue un pilar en su comunidad, una mujer que siempre estaba presente en los momentos difíciles de los demás, ofreciendo apoyo, consuelo y hasta lo que tenía con tal de ayudar.

Guillermina deja en vida a su querido esposo Joaquín Aguilar, a su amada hija Jennifer Aguilar, a sus hermanos Ángel Bernabé Rodríguez, Reyna Rodríguez, Inés Fuentes Rodriguez, Carmen Fuentes Rodríguez, Fernando Fuentes Rodríguez y Natalia Fuentes Rodriguez, así como a muchos sobrinos y sobrinas que la quisieron profundamente.
Le preceden en muerte sus padres biológicos Josefina Rodríguez Degante y Emeterio López, sus padres adoptivos Juana Rodríguez Degante y Mauro Fuentes Garcia, y su hermana Petronila Fuentes Rodríguez.
Guillermina será recordada como una mujer de gran corazón, alguien que dio sin medida, que amó profundamente y que siempre brindó alegría a quienes la rodeaban. Su bondad, su amistad y su amor permanecerán por siempre en el corazón de todos los que la conocieron.
