Linda Odom, born on December 12, 1960, in Illinois, passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 64. A dedicated and accomplished insurance investigator, Linda proudly worked alongside law enforcement throughout her career, exemplifying exceptional negotiation skills and an unwavering commitment to her profession. Blessed with a strong work ethic, she began her career at the young age of 15 and continued working diligently until her illness.
Linda cherished her family above all, embodying a spirit of love and care that will forever be remembered. She was the primary caregiver for her mother, Loretta, until her passing in 2018, and she continually went to extraordinary lengths for her son, Ryan Odom. A beloved sister to Pat Monson née Gavrys and a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews-Christine Penridge née Monson, Michelle DiMasi née Monson, Julie Sheeky née Gavrys, and Eric Gavrys-Linda's nurturing nature resonated with everyone who knew her.
In her leisure, Linda found joy in sitting in her backyard, shopping, and watching the Chicago Blackhawks, often surrounded by family. She had a deep affection for her cat, Hotdog, and a particular fondness for irises and roses, which were her favorite flowers.
Linda is survived by her son, Ryan Odom; her sister, Pat Monson; her brothers, Craig, Rick, and Thomas Gavrys; her brother-in-law, Bill Monson and son-in-law Shane Devins. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her and will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Linda was preceded in death by: Richard Gavrys, Loretta Creed née Gavrys
