Nancy Serdar
September 3, 1939 – October 12, 2025
With deep love and gratitude for her life, the family of Nancy Serdar announces her peaceful passing at Lightways Hospice Center.
Nancy was born on September 3, 1939, to Clifford and Clarita (Shafranski) Jones, and was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her husband of 56 years, Edward Serdar; her sister Linda Jones (Ernie Blondis); and her brother Cliff Jones.
She leaves behind her sister Chris Lenski; daughters Leslee Serdar, Luminara Serdar, and Loren (Chris Amaker) Marie; grandsons Brandon Allen (Cara Bulmann) and Noah Serdar; and great-grandchildren Waylon Bulmann and Nixon Allen. Nancy is also fondly remembered by Jodi-Ann Kasky, who was like a 4th daughter to her, her 3 daughters Hailey, Julie-Ann, Kelsie, many nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish her warmth and kindness.
Nancy was a loving and devoted wife for 56 years - her patience, strength, and humor in all circumstances earned her the affectionate nickname "St. Nancy."
She graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1960 she then dedicated 40 plus years of her life as a nurse at St. Joseph Medical Center, caring for others with compassion, patience, and an unwavering sense of duty. Her gentle nature and loving heart touched everyone she met.
An extremely gifted seamstress, Nancy poured her creativity into sewing where she made beautiful costumes for countless ballet recitals, and special occasions. She loved to make clothes for her grandchildren, great nieces and great nephews. She also knitted and crocheted many hats and blankets for JOHA - Joliet Oncology Hematoma Associates and for many friends and workers at Story Point where she resided the last year and a half.
She found simply joys in life - crossword puzzles, a good book and the company of those she loved most
Nancy also loved the opera she was always listening to classical music where she found peace
Nancy will be remembered for her quiet strength and her generosity of spirit. Her presence will be dearly missed, but her light and love will live on in all whose lives she touched.
