Beloved father, grandfather and husband, Antonio Carrera Rivera, entered the gates of heaven on November 1, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Rita Martinez and their children Antonio (Jennifer) Carrera, Joselito (Sarah) Vazquez, Rosa (Felipe) Ramirez, Marco Corral and Asenaida Weber. Furthermore, he is survived by 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; Briana, Julien, Alexis, Annamaria, Felipe, Nathan, Sophia, Vivian, Emmanuel, Evalynn, Nadia, Mia, Liv, Louella, Lainey, Dawson, Nolan, and Finley; he will remain forever in their hearts. Tony was born on June 13, 1954, in La Purisima, Tepehuanes – Durango, Mexico to Arnulfa and Jose Carrera. He came to the United States as a young man, and eventually settled in Waukesha to raise his children. Everyone who knew him could see and feel his sincerity and strong spirit. He led by example, always willing to lend a hand. He loved his family fiercely – “grampy” could often be found taking a walk with his grandchildren, pointing out the beauty of nature. Tony was a lover of all sports, he truly loved to watch the Brewers and the Bucks and you could find him every Sunday with his packer apparel watching the game – cheering on his favorite team.
Visitation will take place at St. Mary Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186 on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 10:00AM until the 12:00 Noon funeral Mass. Private burial for immediate family will be at Prairie Home Cemetery.
