Dr. Antonio Davalos

Dr Antonio Davalos passed away on February 24, 2024. He was born in Juarez chihuahua on February 29, 1944. He attended medical school at the University of Medicine in Chihuahua, Mexico and did his internship at Thomason
Hospital in El Paso, before going on to complete his residency in general surgery at the University Hospital of the Puerto Rico Medical Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Dr. Davalos began working in Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso TX in 1980. He was a brilliant general surgeon and was also a pillar of
the Del Sol Medical Staff having held Chief of Staff; Chief of Surgery; Vice Chief of Surgery; and the
Chair for the hospital's Credentials Committee. Dr. Davalos always took an
active role in helping determine the direction the hospital. He was named Dr of the year in 2009.
Dr Davalos was a kind and compassionate man and physician. But he was mostly known for telling people what they needed to hear not what they wanted to hear. His brutal honesty and candor was one of his most endearing qualities to friends and family.
His generous spirit, keen insight and quick wit will forever be missed but we are grateful for the lessons learned, the laughs shared, and the memories created together.
Dr Davalos is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Rosalba. His children, Dr Mauricio Davalos, Carla (Dan) Nelson and Tony (Joanna) Davalos. He was loved by his grandchildren, Isabela, Diego and Nicolas Davalos, Sophia, Daniel and Mateo Nelson, Pablo and Vivienne Davalos and David Narvaez.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr Alfonso Chavez for his many years of friendship and for his compassionate care and service.
Dr Davalos lived a great life and will be missed dearly on this side of heaven.
The Funeral Mass to honor Dr. Antonio Davalos will be held on Thursday, February 29th at 11 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, located at 1551 Belvidere St.
The services have been entrusted to Perches-West Funeral Home.
