Antonio "Tino" Rodriguez, age 26, was born March 6, 1998 in Spokane Washington, to Patricio "Pat" Rodriguez and April (Berger) Sambila. He passed away unexpectedly on February 25, 2025, in Union Gap, Washington.
Tino grew up splitting his time between Yakima and Spokane and later in his teenage years returned more permanently to Yakima where he attended both Davis and Eisenhower High Schools.
Growing up Tino was a very energetic and spirited boy, always keeping his family on their toes. He fell in love with the sport of baseball and grew up playing through high school. Tino also had a great love for the outdoors and loved camping and snowboarding. His favorite time was spent on the slopes of White Pass and 49 Degree North in Spokane. As much as Tino loved seeking adrenaline, he also enjoyed hanging out watching his favorite teams play on television. Tino loved the friendly banter and "smack talking" with his Tia, Mora on how the 49ers is a way better team than the Seahawks. Just like his dad and sister Heather, Tino's favorite baseball team was the Los Angeles Dodgers.
More recently, Tino spent a short time living in San Antonio, Texas and fell in love with that area. His goal was to eventually be able to move back.
Tino loved all his family very much, but he had great love for the woman who always made sure he was taken care of, his grandma, Maria. Tino also loved all his siblings very much and they always held a very special place in his heart.
Tino is survived by the man who did absolutely anything for him, his loving father, Pat Rodriguez, his mother, April (Berger) Sambila and step-father, Ty Sambila, his loving sisters, Heather and Kaylee Rodriguez, Taylor Sambila, brothers, Joseph and Tanner Sambila, his loving grandparents, Maria and Patricio Rodriguez and Eugene (Gene) Berger, godparents, Alba and Ed Levesque, aunt, Moraima Verstrate, and many cousins, aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his grandma, Pam Berger and uncle, John Verstrate.
His viewing will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 5:00-8:00pm with a Rosary at 6:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 11:00am at St. Paul Cathedral Catholic Church (15 S 12th Ave, Yakima, WA). A graveside service will immediately follow at Tahoma Cemetery (1802 Tahoma Ave, Yakima, WA). Reception from 2:00 to 5:00pm at The Excel Youth Center (1009 N 9th Ave, Yakima).
