Antonio Jacob Silva, lovingly known as Tony, was born on April 3, 1946, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to Erllinda Maes Robertson and Jake Silva. He left this world on August 27, 2025, in Rawlins, Wyoming, leaving behind a legacy of fond memories and cherished relationships.
Tony's career was marked by dedication and hard work. He lived and worked in Denver, Colorado, as a guard watchman before moving to Rawlins, Wyoming, where he continued his service at the Wyoming Penitentiary. Known for his strong work ethic, Tony retired in 2017, leaving behind a career that spanned decades.
His military service from 1967 to 1971, which included time in Vietnam, was a point of pride for him. Tony carried the values learned during this period throughout his life, impacting those around him in countless positive ways.
Tony was known for his vibrant spirit and enthusiasm for life. He enjoyed dancing and playing pool, with many evenings spent at the casinos. Visits with family and friends brought him immense joy, and he had a particular fondness for listening to doo-wop music, watching football, and immersing himself in western films. As a proud member of the Coffee Club at the Rifleman Bar, he cherished the camaraderie and connections formed there.
Tony is survived by his brothers, John (Naomi) Maes and Justin (Marie) Maes; his sister, Mary Baca; and numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly. He is preceded in death by his mother, Erlinda Maes Robertson; sisters, Josephine Gutierrez and Geraldine Silva; and his special niece, Linda Eva Maes.
Vigil for the deceased and Recitation of the Rosary will be held on September 2, 2025, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rawlins, Wyoming, beginning with a service at 7 PM. The following day, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 AM, followed by burial with Military Funeral Honors at Rawlins Cemetery Pavilion at 11:15 AM. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring Tony's memory, sharing their stories and celebrating the impact he had on their lives.
Tony will be deeply missed but remembered for his warmth, laughter, and the love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.
