Apollo Alexander Schmidt, beloved son, brother, and friend, lived life full of depth, adventure and soul. He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Apollo grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. He found peace and joy in nature, especially during long walks in Asbury Woods with his mom and dad. He had a gentle spirit and a deep connection to the earth-always seeking adventure, charting his own path, and embracing the freedom of the journey.
He was brave and fearless, never afraid to walk alone, to take the road less traveled, or to chase something bigger than himself. That courage inspired a nine-month solo trip across America, eventually taking him to the forests of Washington state. He lived for adventure and carried himself with quiet strength, always moving forward no matter the obstacles. His determination, independence, and wild heart were a constant source of pride for his family.
A devoted fan of the Grateful Dead, Apollo carried the spirit of their music in his heart-free-spirited, soulful, and full of love. He lived life with the same kind of bold, authentic energy that their music embodies.
He was deeply loved by his parents, Heide and Rick; his stepmom, Becky Schmidt; his stepdad, John Horn; his grandmother, Sherry; step-grandfather, Bill; and his grandparents, Dave and Rose, John and Cathy. His four sisters, Raechel, Alexa, Adrienne, and Athena; his two brothers, Skyler (Allie) and Levi; two stepsisters, Miranda (Nick) and Jessica, and his stepbrothers, Eugene, Christian, Blaine, and Zach. He is also survived by his Aunt Denise and Uncle Jim, along with cousins Erin and Chris. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family who adored him.
Apollo will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
