Archie Wade Bell, age 76, of Sulphur Springs, Texas went to be with the Lord peacefully, surrounded by his family on September 17, 2024. He was born August 7, 1948 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to G.W. Bell and Thelma Alice Armstrong Bell. He was married to Jimmie Faye Pool on July 21, 1967 in Como, Texas.
Together they had two children, Waylon Bell (wife Jayda Bright), Vickie Goodson (husband David Goodson); six grandchildren, Brittany Schaeffer (husband Jeremy Schaeffer), Demi Willis, Hunter Goodson, Heath Goodson, Brianna Bell (fiancé, Mark McKeithen), Daylon Bell; five great-grandchildren, Kayden and Emily Schaeffer, Riggin Bilharz, Ryker Willis, Rynlynn Hooper; siblings, James Bell, Carolyn McKinney, Betty Chester; and a small army of nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, G.W. and Thelma Alice Bell; brothers, Henry Dale Bell and George Bell; and sisters, Dollie Jean Temples, Patrica Rogers, and Margaret Sue Clark.
Archie was a deacon at Lake Highlands Baptist Church. He was a logistics manager with Bulkley Trucking at the time of his retirement and was very active and committed to his job. He was a very serious and loving man to his family and friends. He felt very strongly about St. Jude’s Hospitals for Children.
There will be a memorial service at Lake Highlands Baptist Church, 1500 College Street, Sulphur Springs, Texas on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, he would like for you to donate to St. Jude’s Hospital or Children’s Leukemia Foundation.
