Archie Manuel Spencer

Archie Manuel Spencer, of Rolla, MO, passed away Monday, March 9, 2026 at the age of 85.

He was born on December 13, 1940 in Maries County, MO to the late Emmett Spencer and Lucy (Feeler) Spencer. On August 24, 1963, he married Sandra (Black) Spencer in Rolla, MO.

In addition to his parents, Archie was also preceded in death by two brothers, Don Spencer and Paul Spencer; and a great grandson, Cole.

For more than sixty years, Archie poured his heart into Spencer Construction. He built many properties and projects throughout Rolla leaving behind a legacy of hard work, integrity, and craftsmanship. Archie cherished his family above all else. He found great enjoyment spending time with his family and children. And later loved supporting his grandchildren and great grandchildren at their many activities. Archie loved sharing good meals-especially seafood, prime rib, and anything sweet. He had a very personal relationship with God throughout his life. In recent years, his relationship with God deepened leading him to become a part of the Catholic Church-a step that brought him peace, and a renewed sense of faith. Whether he was out on his pontoon with a fishing pole in hand or lending his time and efforts to anyone who needed a helping hand, he lived with a generosity and steadiness that made life better for everyone around him. His life was one of quiet strength, deep love, and countless acts of service. Archie made a huge impact in Rolla and his contributions will continue to stand tall in the community he helped build. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Archie's surviving family includes: his wife, Sandra Spencer of Rolla, MO; six children, Alyce Spencer and partner, Paul Colvin of Rolla, Lucia Hart and husband, Richard of Rolla, Dana Spencer of Rolla, Randy Spencer and wife, Alyssa of Rolla, Stephanie Duff and husband, Daniel of Arnold, MO, and Michael Spencer and wife, Karla of St. James, MO; two sisters, Linda Rush and Mary Sue Sanchez and husband, Tony, both of Rolla; grandchildren, Rachael Skaggs and partner, John Wann, Eric Skaggs, Katie Chapman and husband, Joe, Gabby Hart, Michael Hart and wife, Kendra, Jessie Williams, Nathan Hall, Craig Hall, Anna Winton, Natalye Spencer, Alyson Spencer, Lauren Duff and spouse, Kaylie Weiss, Olivia Sidwell, Lindsay Duff, Luke Duff, Michael Spencer, Jr., Lexi Spencer, Kierra Sanford and fiancé, Brett Leeser, and Keith Spencer and wife, Katie; and twenty six great grandchildren.

A funeral service for Archie M. Spencer will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow in the Spencer-Davis Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
