Brandt, Ardis (Halverson) passed away on March 31, 2024. Ardis entered this world on September 7, 1937, the only child of LaVerne and Ruth Halverson. On April 9, 1960 Ardis was united in marriage to William (Bill) Brandt. Ardis was a long time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where for many years she served on the Alter Guild. Ardis was also a loyal volunteer for St. Joseph's Food Pantry. Ardis received her education from Zion Lutheran School and graduated from Appleton Senior High School in 1955. Ardis began her working career at the Aid Associated For Lutherans upon her graduation from High School. She worked there until her children were born. After her children were in school she worked for Sears Credit Central until they closed. She then went back to work for Aid Associated For Lutherans (Thrivent) and retired in 2001. Ardis was a very faithful, caring, loving wife, mother and grandmother. In her younger days she loved to cook and bake. After her father passed away she cared for her mother for 15 years until her mom passed away at age 97.5. Ardis and Bill loved to travel. One such time was when she and Bill went to Germany for five weeks to visit relatives of the Brandt family and the Thurner family. Ardis' mom was a Thurner. Another trip that she really enjoyed was spending a week in Baja, Mexico where she was able to catch some really big fish. Ardis was very supportive of her sons David and Robert. For two summers she served as their T-League Baseball coach. Ardis was like a sister to Kitty (Bud) Fuerst, Dorothy (Jim) McCormick, Barbara VanDen Broek and James Eichinger.
Ardis is survived by sons David (Jodi), Appleton, and Robert Brandt, Neenah; grandson Brandon (Samantha) Brandt, Neenah. She is further survived by her sister-in-law Audrey Brandt, niece Kathy Brandt, Madison, niece Debbie (Jay) Hodson and their children Emily, Allison, and Matthew.
Ardis was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents, her mother and father-in-law Emil and Martha Brandt, brothers-in-law Ken Brandt, Robert Brandt, and sister-in-law Joan Brandt.
The funeral service for Ardis will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Friday, April 5, 2024 with visitation from 10am until the time of service at 11am. The presiding Pastor will be Pastor Timothy Seabaugh.
In lieu of flowers any donations may be left to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
