Arica Sherea Elam
47, of Mount Clemens, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit.
She was born in Chicago, IL, May 8, 1976, the daughter of Leon Jr. and Doris (Davis) Elam.
Arica attended Mt. Clemens High School. She loved playing with and watching her nieces and nephews. She worked from home watching after her nieces and nephews. Arica loved to keep a clean house and was always cleaning up- we often called her Martha Steward! She loved to host family and friends whenever she could.
Arica is survived by her son, Jamiroquai Lavell Sanders; her parents, Leon Jr. and Doris Elam; three siblings, Dennal Elam, Lilleon Elam and Altius Elam; her nieces, Shaun Metts, Reshawn Rainey, Dreiana Carree-El, Aalajah Elam, and Aalona Elam; her nephews, Larry Elam, Craig Elam, Messiah Talley, Leron Thacker, and Maleke Elam, as well as many extended family and friends.
The family honors the memory of Arica and invites you to visit and share memories Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Mount Clemens. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Friday at The Winners Circle Church, 258 Southbound Gratiot Ave, Mt. Clemens, MI 48043, with 11:00 a.m. visiting. Rev. Ronnie L. Hardy, pastor with Champions International Ministries, will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
