My brother was an alcoholic who couldn't find his own way to fight hard enough to escape his alcohol addiction. The number one rule in addiction is that we don't give up on a life. No one should ever be met with a cold shoulder, we fight to help. For those who stood by him and offered help over the years, we truly appreciate you all that you have done.

In my brother's own words, "I don't need crocodile tears." As family and friends, we will honor that. He was a prideful man who was always willing to help expecting nothing in return other than respect. He was never a religious person, and if you imagine high fiving him in heaven one day, know that isn't where he'll be. Instead, you'll find him somewhere in the afterlife kicking a soccer ball, talking about why the Jets still suck, and talking about future upcoming Argentina World Cup victories.

I will never forget watching Argentina, as a family, win the third star, cursing, screaming, and singing at the TV during the best World Cup of our lives in my living room. He was an athlete who knew sports inside and out. Knowing him, he'll be coaching Argentina World Cup victories from wherever he is and maybe now, if he can pull some strings the JETS will have a chance.

My brother was the guy who, if he had a nickel in his pocket and you needed it, it was yours. He would figure things out for himself later. He was an amazing person who wanted nothing more than the simple things in life, as he knew those were the only things that really mattered. Whether he was driving his BMW or a 25 year old Honda Civic, he was perfectly content. Not many of us can say that, but he could.

I ask for all of your respect in this time by keeping this a private family matter. We appreciate your love and support, but we do not want our loss shared across social media. This is about his dignity, not anyone's platform.

Our family has decided not to host services. We believe services are for the living and not for deceased. My brother was never fond of funerals. Instead please keep him in your hearts because I assure you that you are always in his.
